Emma Heeley

Emma is a Senior Research Fellow at The George Institute and a conjoint Senior Lecturer within the faculty of Medicine at The University of Sydney. Emma is an epidemiologist with over 10 years experience in health related research. She has a PhD in respiratory physiology from the University of Southampton and a Masters in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Prior to joining The George Institute in September 2006, Emma worked at the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency in the UK as a pharmacoepidemiologist in both the post licensing section and the General Practice Research Database (GPRD).Emma is on the Executive Committee and is the global study director for 2 large scale international academic led clinical trials; the Sleep Apnea cardioVascular Endpoints (SAVE) study and The second Intensive Blood Pressure Reduction in Acute Cerebral Haemorrhage Trial (INTERACT2) clinical trials. Emma also works on innovative technologies to improve prevention of cardiovascular disease.
